Defining suffering

Is suffering celebrated? Is it necessary for growth? What defines suffering?

Do we all suffer?

I think we do one way or another.

Suffering in my definition is a conscious or unconscious state you’re in while growing.

Suffering in a way is a gift from the universe that gives you the ability to FEEL it while you’re developing into a certain shape or form as an individual.

I had this for a little while like a pride of suffering to get to where I want to be in life…

Over time I am realizing that you have to be super conscious about that state. It can be tricky.

I love challenges in life. I constantly voluntarily engage in challenges to make myself tougher, especially from a mental standpoint.

Most of these challenges are physical, in my mind, they are yin and yang. They go together.

Mind = Mind

Body = Mind

Generally though. There are plenty of differences between them, but there is plenty of equality.

This feeling of overcoming certain challenges can be quite addicting as well.

You want more of that feeling, but your body is suffering and then it becomes a battle.

But does it have to be a never-ending battle?

It can be the other way around. The mind is suffering, but the body wants that feeling.

I find that this conscious suffering opened so many doors for me mentally.

Especially starting from an objective point of viewability.

I can look at things from a neutral way because it’s clear that every single person has their point of view.

Stress tolerance is another thing worth mentioning very much because you are simply able to remove emotions and look at things stoically.

Recently studies discovered a part of the brain called: the anterior mid-cingulate cortex.

Why this is relevant?

Think of the anterior mid-cingulate cortex as your brain’s manager in the front, helping you concentrate, make choices, and manage your feelings.

We all have that part in our brain.

Someone has it bigger and someone has it smaller.

How to make it bigger tho?

I did not want to make it one sentence that sounds like BS.

In general, these are the things we know we have to do but consciously or unconsciously avoid.

We sometimes even suffer when thinking about them.

As I said in the beginning we suffer more or less.

Either it’s decision-making about which pasta to buy or life-changing decisions that cause stress and sleepless nights.

You want to be calmer under pressure and remove unnecessary emotions, right?

So suffer consciously.
